A scrubby bar of exfoliating soap made using olive seed granules, coconut oil, and olive oil. It will cleanse your skin, remove dead skin and also leave it feeling nourished. The lather is creamy and smooth and the scrubbyness helps to remove stubborn dirt like mud and clay.
Exfoliating Soap is vegan, with no palm oil, and no nasties. It is a natural traditional cold processed soap free from detergents, SLS, alcohol, parabens, silicones, sulphates and preservatives.
Olive stone granules are the exfoliating “bits”.
Handmade natural soap is kinder to the skin than ‘normal’ soap or cleansing bars.
How cold process soap is made
Natural soap is made using cold or hot process methods. This bar is made using the cold process method, the traditional process of mixing Lye (aka caustic soda or sodium hydroxide) with oils. When these ingredients react it is called saponification! The mixture emulsifies and reaches trace (thick enough to draw a line in) and then you pour it into a mould to set. Once the loaf is set I de-mould it and slice it into bars. These bars are not quite ready to use yet. Depending on the recipe they take 6 to 8 weeks to fully cure and be ready to use. Lye needs to be handled with a lot of care, I recommend going on a course if you’d like to try this out.
Each bar is 150 minimum (or 2 bars of 75g).
I do not shave the edges off my soap because I don’t mind the rustic look and you get an extra 4 showers from that.
The packaging and postage packaging contains no plastic and is all re-useable.
