Ocean scent Roll-on Deodorant
Natural roll-on deodorant that effectively keeps you smelling fresh without any harmful ingredients. Bicarb-free formula. Colloidal silver and potassium alum crystal are the active ingredients that prevent bacterial growth (which is what makes the B.O. smell). Ocean scent is a blend of Juniper, geranium and lemongrass essential oils—a wonderful fresh scent.
Why make this?
I couldn’t find a natural deodorant that was easy to use and effective for me and my family. I have sensitive skin and using a bicarb (or magnesium hydroxide) deodorant left me with sores and eczema flare-ups. My husband needs something deodorising enough for his active job, and my children are FAST approaching puberty. I need decent deodorant in my house so I decided to make it.
What is in this product and why?
Aqua – That’s water, a solvent for dissolving the active ingredients.
Isopropyl Myristate – This improves product texture and is an emollient (helps soften and smooth skin).
Clay – Helps the ball roll and improves the product’s texture.
Colloidal Silver – Halts microbial growth, which causes body odour. Safe (non-nano) and will not be absorbed into the skin pores.
Potassium Alum – Naturally occurring mineral that also halts microbial growth. This does not block pores, and extensive research has shown that this is a safe and effective deodorising ingredient.
Glycerin – a humectant (hydrates skin).
Xanthan gum and carrageenan – Gelling agents for perfect consistency.
Decyl Glucoside – Very gentle surfactant and emulsifier.
Essential oil blend for a scent.

I really like this, I like the concept and the green credentials and being able to get refills and so on in the future. The smell of the Ocean one is lovely and fresh. And it’s gentle and non irritant.
However it’s not quite as effective initially as I’d hoped, I had been using a natural deodorant that I made myself, but fancied a change, so it was not like I was using a powerful commercial one. At the start I was pretty rare before my next daily shower, but after using for two weeks that has improved, so maybe it’s something your body has to get used to. I would buy it again.
ETA that I’ve now been using it for a month and it’s perfectly effective now. So as I said earlier it was obviously a transitional effect.

First of all it smells really fresh and not too strong.
When applying it’s spread evenly. Not too heavy, wet or powdery. Doesn’t even become sticky it just blends into the skin.
Some deodorant spray have left me itching but this has no irritation at all. Soft and calming on the skin highly recommend this product

Lovely application, no stickiness it dries very quickly. towards the end of the day which I find with some brands I get itchy but using this I found I don’t get that itchy feeling. Definitely feels more kind on my skin.
