Description

Winter Spice or Chocolate Orange Soap

A nourishing bar of soap made using shea and cocoa butter, coconut, and olive oil. It will cleanse your skin and also leave it feeling nourished. The lather is creamy and smooth and it adds a little natural luxury to your routine washing.

This wintery soap is vegan, with no palm oil, and no nasties. It is a natural traditional cold processed soap free from detergents, SLS, alcohol, parabens, silicones, sulphates and preservatives.

The Winter Spice Soap is gently exfoliating due to the real ground spices content. Winter Spice Soap is scented with bay, nutmeg, cinnamon, and sweet orange with a decorative star anise on top. The Chocolate Orange Soap is made with real dark chocolate and sweet orange with a decorative slice of dried orange on top.

Natural Soap

Handmade natural soap is kinder to the skin than ‘normal’ soap or cleansing bars. Because it’s kinder to the skin, it’s absolutely perfect to use on the delicate facial area too.

Mass-produced soaps can contain chemicals that are known to dry out the skin and leave it irritated and sore – which is why many people over the years have avoided using it on their face. It is also why manufacturers have made a huge business out of marketing and selling overpriced facial cleansers!

How cold process soap is made

Natural soap is made using cold or hot process methods.  This bar is made using the cold process method, the traditional process of mixing Lye (aka caustic soda or sodium hydroxide) with oils. When these ingredients react it is called saponification! The mixture emulsifies and reaches trace (thick enough to draw a line in) and then you pour it into a mould to set. Once the loaf is set I de-mould it and slice it into bars. These bars are not quite ready to use yet. Depending on the recipe they take 6 to 8 weeks to fully cure and be ready to use. Lye needs to be handled with a lot of care, I recommend going on a course if you’d like to try this out.

The Bar

Each bar is 120g minimum and some chunky cuts are up to 140g.

I do not shave the edges off my soap because I don’t mind the rustic look and you get an extra 4 showers from that.

The packaging and postage packaging contains no plastic and is all re-useable.
